Security needs a considerable amount of attention. New laws and regulations make security an important issue for many organizations. Fortytwo performs security-audits (blackbox as well as grey- and whitebox); we advise about security related items, and we manage and maintain firewalls and securely contained environments.

Wide angle
The security of computers and networks has grown to be a major theme in the past years. Many think of virus scanners and spam prevention, but a professional view on security reaches further: security experts also manage risks associated with the availability of computer systems and servers, and the integrity of data. A firewall provides good protection against hackers, but it does not safeguard against failing components, extreme loads or security incidents on the internal network.

The need
The need for good security is shown by the 'ICT Barometer' by Ernst & Young: a survey conducted in 2009 showed that about 21% of all companies has had at least one security incident in the prior year. In addition, research from Digibewust and Nationale Infrastructuur Cybercrime showed that 80 % of all small to medium sized businesses has implemented little or no security measures.
